Start Panicking! – Another Reason To Use a Proxy

24th April - Submitted by Josh

www.StartPanic.com emphasises a scary truth about our privacy and gives us another reason to use our trusty proxies! Well, basically this site is able to see every single site we have been to on our computers (and show you them). However this is not a malicious site, it is simply pointing out a security risk in our browsers. The aim of this site is to not only inform us to this risk but ultimately eliminate the risk.

They have set up a petition to  “request to patch the privacy vulnerabilities of … different web browsers.” So I totally recommend that check out the site and see your history. If any site can see it, who knows what secrets you have could be uncovered, or even worse: login details, bank details etc! So if your worried about these risks sign the petition! (At time of posting 1521 have already signed).

When they get a sizable amount of signees they will be sending the petition to the following companies: Mozilla Corp,  Apple inc, Microsoft Corp and Opera Software ASA (Thankfully they don’t have too big expectations).  Then, perhaps, we will be able to surf a little safer!

So hopefully that will encourage you to use our proxies! So sign the petition and make your browsing more secure!

Josh
