Choosing A Good Proxy Domain
Choosing a good domain for your proxy is essential. So in this post I am going to tell you how to get a good one!
You want to have a very memorable domain. Preferably be a maximum of 5 or 6 characters long and be pronounceable. However as these sort of domains are becoming rarer and rarer daily so you could go for a short but sweet domain. These are usually 3 characters long and have both numbers and letters in them. People will better remember these sort of domains and will increase your returning traffic which is very valuable.
One thing you need to do, but many ignore, is avoid using the word “proxy”, “proxies” or any other word that will speed up the process of blocking your proxy. However if you are targeting myspace or facebook (or any site for a matter of fact) users, then it is a very good idea have that word in the domain.
After you have decided what the main part of the domain is, you have to decide on an extension, .com, .co.uk, .net, .org etc. Com domains rank much better, in my point of view, on search engines but then again you do have to pay more. So if you are going to be making a long term proxy definitely get a .com domain. However if you are thinking of making a large network of proxies, .info’s are great as they are always extremely cheap!
Hopefully you have found this post useful, please digg and stumble (and all of the others) it.

May 21st, 2009 at 8:56 amAs you can see I have use co.cc domain.
For one is free of money charge. After that is $10 till 100 domains.
I have asked them what is going to happened when they expire, and get no answer.BUT I have a big problem. Many proxy lists don’t accept co.cc or co.uk names as they think that there are subdomains.
If you want to be on proxy.org or centurian.org and many other good lists forget that domains. Use classic .info’s.
